ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Sinusoidal Excitation of a Free Turbulent Jet With Constant Amplitude Transverse Pressure Gradients Near the Nozzle Exit: Part II: An A-C Fluidic Model for the Jet Gain
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A free turbulent jet is perturbed transverse to the flow direction by a sinusoidal pressure gradient near the nozzle exit. An a-c model for the jet gain, based upon the control region dynamics ...
Sinusoidal Excitation of a Free Turbulent Jet With Constant Amplitude Transverse Pressure Gradients Near the Nozzle Exit: Part I: Measurement of Mean Shear Velocities
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A free turbulent jet is perturbed transverse to the flow direction by a sinusoidal pressure gradient near the nozzle exit. Velocities in the jet are determined by hot wire anemometer measurements. ...
Analysis of the Stiffness and Damping of an Inherently Compensated, Multiple-Inlet, Circular Thrust Bearing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A circular thrust bearing with inherently compensated feedholes evenly distributed around an interior radius is analyzed. The feedhole boundary between the central disk region and exterior annular ...
Dynamic Characteristics of an Inherently Compensated, Square, Gas Film Bearing
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A rectangular gas film bearing with inherently compensated feedholes evenly distributed around the interior is analyzed. The feedhole boundary between the enclosed central region and the exterior ...
Signal Transit Velocities in a Turbulent Plane Jet
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A turbulent jet is perturbed transverse to the flow direction by periodic pressure gradients near the nozzle exit. Transit velocities are defined in terms of the measured signal time delay for ...
Friction and Wear With a Fully Melting Surface
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A theoretical model for melt lubrication is given which depends on the mass melt rate itself to develop load support between parallel surfaces. Expressions are derived for film thickness and ...
