ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

The Elliptic Solution of the Secondary Flow Problem
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents the elliptic solution of the inviscid incompressible secondary flow in curved passages. The three-dimensional flow field is synthesized between 3 sets of orthogonal nonstream ...
High-Temperature Erosion Resistance of Coatings for Gas Turbine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: An experimental investigation was conducted to study the ash particle rebound characteristics and the associated erosion behavior of superalloys and aluminide coatings subjected to gas-particle ...
An Investigation in the Variance in Particle Surface Interactions and Their Effects in Gas Turbines
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work presents the results of a study conducted to investigate particle surface interaction characteristics and their effects on the particle dynamics and blade erosion in axial flow gas ...
Improved Particle Trajectory Calculations Through Turbomachinery Affected by Coal Ash Particles
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Trajectories of small coal ash particles encountered in coal-fired gas turbines are calculated with an improved computer analysis currently under development. The analysis uses an improved numerical ...
Effect of Solid Particles on Turbine Performance
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A theoretical method was developed for predicting the pressure distribution over a blade in cascade for a compressible flow with solid particles. Experimental results were obtained from a cascade ...
The Dynamics of Suspended Solid Particles in a Two-Stage Gas Turbine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Gas turbine engines operating in dusty environments are exposed to erosion and performance deterioration. In order to provide the basis for calculating the erosion and performance deterioration ...
Effects of Variational Particle Restitution Characteristics on Turbomachinery Erosion
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents the results of an investigation to determine the effects of variational particle rebounding models on surface impacts and blade erosion patterns in gas turbines. The variance ...
Three-Dimensional Flow Field Measurements in a Radial Inflow Turbine Scroll Using LDV
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The results of an experimental study of the three-dimensional flow field in a radial inflow turbine scroll are presented. A two-color LDV system was used in the measurement of three orthogonal ...
Temperature Effect on Particle Dynamics and Erosion in Radial Inflow Turbine
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents the results of an investigation of the particle dynamics and the resulting blade erosion in radial inflow turbine rotors. In order to determine the influence of the ...
Influence of Secondary Flow on Turbine Erosion
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This work presents the results of an investigation conducted to study the effect of secondary flow on blade erosion by coal ash particles in axial flow gas turbines. The particle dynamics and ...
