ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Structural Properties of Immature Canine Bone
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Structural properties of growing canine long bones were determined from three and four-point bending tests. Mechanical and geometric properties were found to follow a biphasic growth process, ...
The Material Properties of Immature Bone
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The age-related material properties of developing immature canine bone were determined for the femora, tibiae, humeri, radii, and ulnae in animals from 1 wk of age to maturity. These properties ...
A Method of Analyzing the Three-Dimensional Stiffness Properties of the Intact Human Lumbar Spine

The Effect of Conformity and Plastic Thickness on Contact Stresses in Metal-Backed Plastic Implants
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Surface damage in polyethylene components for total joint replacement is associated with large contact stresses. An elasticity solution and finite element analyses were used to determine the ...
