ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Comparison Between Complete Hilbert Transform and Simplified Solutions of the Moore Rotating Stall Model
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The main objective of this work is the analysis and the comparison between different methods utilized to solve the Moore rotating stall model. To date only simplified relations between the ...
Multistage Centrifugal Compressor Surge Analysis: Part I—Experimental Investigation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper reports an experimental investigation on centrifugal compressor surge. The compression system consists of a four-stage blower with vaned diffusers and a large plenum discharging into ...
Multistage Centrifugal Compressor Surge Analysis: Part II—Numerical Simulation and Dynamic Control Parameters Evaluation
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper describes, from a theoretical point of view, the behavior of compression systems during surge and the effect of passive and active control devices on the instability limit of the ...
Heat Exchangers for Fuel Cell and Hybrid System Applications
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The fuel cell system and fuel cell gas turbine hybrid system represent an emerging technology for power generation because of its higher energy conversion efficiency, extremely low environmental ...
A Tool for Thermoeconomic Analysis and Optimization of Gas, Steam, and Combined Plants
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The aim of this work is to demonstrate the capability of an original “modular” simulator tool for the thermoeconomic analysis of thermal-energy systems. The approach employed is based on the ...
Environmental Influence on the Thermoeconomic Optimization of a Combined Plant With NOx Abatement
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Methods to analyze, improve, and optimize thermal energy systems have to take into account not only energy (exergy) consumption and economic resources, but also pollution and degradation of the ...
An Assessment of the Performance of Closed Cycles With and Without Heat Rejection at Cryogenic Temperatures
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: This paper presents optimized cycle performance that can be obtained with systems including a closed cycle gas turbine (CCGT). The influence of maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and ...
Time Characterization of the Anodic Loop of a Pressurized Solid Oxide Fuel Cell System
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A dynamic solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) model was integrated with other system components (i.e., reformer, anodic off-gas burner, anodic ejector) to build a system model that can simulate the ...
