ASME ( American Society of Mechanical Engineers )
Description: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a professional association that, in its own words, "promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe" via "continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach." ASME is thus an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, a lobbying organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.

Closed Form Solutions For Mixed Convection With Magnetohydrodynamic Effect in a Vertical Porous Annulus Surrounding an Electric Cable
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Mixed convection Darcy flow in a vertical porous annulus around a straight electric cable is investigated. It is assumed that the flow is fully developed and parallel. Moreover, the Boussinesq ...
Darcy–Forchheimer Flow With Viscous Dissipation in a Horizontal Porous Layer: Onset of Convective Instabilities
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Parallel Darcy–Forchheimer flow in a horizontal porous layer with an isothermal top boundary and a bottom boundary, which is subject to a third kind boundary condition, is discussed by taking ...
Transverse Heterogeneity Effects in the Dissipation-Induced Instability of a Horizontal Porous Layer
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The linear stability of a parallel flow in a heterogeneous porous channel is analyzed by means of the Darcy law and the Oberbeck–Boussinesq approximation. The basic velocity and temperature ...
Thermal Nonequilibrium and Viscous Dissipation in the Thermal Entrance Region of a Darcy Flow With Streamwise Periodic Boundary Conditions
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The thermal entrance region in a plane-parallel channel filled by a fluid saturated porous medium is investigated with reference to steady forced convection and to a thermal boundary condition ...
Heterogeneity and Onset of Instability in Darcy’s Flow With a Prescribed Horizontal Temperature Gradient
Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: The aim of this study is the analysis of the onset conditions for the thermal instability in a fluid saturated porous medium. The investigation refers to an infinitely wide horizontal porous ...
