description abstractAn analytical solution is developed for the tapered arbor spring slip clutch by introducing approximations that do not appreciably affect the accuracy of the important clutch quantities. In addition, the influence of the coefficient of friction on the output torque, the axial force on the spring coil, and the radial contact forces alongthe tapered arbor are shown.
