description abstractA method is presented for computing the size and angular location of the correction weights required in selected planes of rotation to balance a flexible shaft rotating at high speeds. It is based on mobility principles and requires a minimal number of measurements. Its application to a test rotor is described, and this indicates that the method could be developed into a practical operating procedure.
