description abstractA theoretical study is made of the squeeze film behavior between two rectangular plates, one with a porous facing, in the presence of a uniform transverse magnetic field. Results are presented for pressure distribution, load capacity, and film thickness as functions of time. It is shown that the application of a magnetic field improves the squeeze-film action.
