description abstractIn this paper, a new numerical method of finite integration is introduced for synthesizing the cam profile for arbitrarily prescribed acceleration curves. The method is compared with the conventional method of finite-differences, and it is shown that the proposed method is of superior accuracy and is believed to be suitable for high speed profiles. Numerical examples are given.
