description abstractDifferential pressure extrusion using double reduction dies was examined. Axisymmetric extrusion experiments using superplastic eutectic alloy of lead-tin were carried out for both single and double reduction extrusions. The flow lines, finite strain distribution at the exit section, and the stress distribution were obtained for the single extrusion and the first stage reduction of the double extrusion. The effect of back pressure induced by the second stage extrusion on the flow behavior and the axial stress distribution was examined. The effect of the intermediate diameter and the intermediate length on the final strain distribution in double extrusion was determined.
