description abstractA number of elastic half-space problems which are related to the response and interaction between foundations subjected to harmonic excitation are considered. Results are given for the amplitudes of vibration and resonant frequencies for a number of two-mass problems. The effect of Poisson’s ratio for the half-space and the distance between the masses on the half-space is examined and the relationship of the authors’ solutions to some other work is discussed.
