description abstractThe experimental results obtained from 10 cylindrical vessels of diameters ranging between 6 and 12 in. with a radial branch of equal strength to the vessel and various degrees of reinforcement are described and compared with theoretical predictions. Design curves, valid for nozzle reinforced openings in both cylindrical and spherical vessels, are proposed.
