description abstractWavelet filtering is combined with cyclostationary analysis for detection of gear tooth faults in a gearbox. The parameters of the wavelet filter are optimized by using the proposed entropy minimization rule. This method is shown to be effective in detecting gear faults when cyclostationary analysis by itself fails.
