| description abstract | It is with great honor and pleasure that I assume the responsibility of Editor for one of the most respected journals in the field of manufacturing science and engineering. From the start of my term, on March 1, 2002, I have continued to build upon the legacy of my predecessor, Professor Shiv Kapoor, whose able leadership and devotion have led to the present standing of the Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering. Therefore, I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of the entire international manufacturing research community, to express our deepest appreciation for his ten years of dedicated service as Editor. Under his stewardship we have witnessed dramatic advances in the quality and diversity of the publications, in the efficiency and integrity of the review process, in the number of published pages, and most importantly, the status of the Journal among its peers. | |
