description abstractThis paper presents a state of art review of the diffusion induced hydrodynamic processes. The conservation equations are derived by making use of Onsager’s reciprocity relations and basic solutions are presented for the binary and ternary fluid systems. The instability caused by the cross diffusion terms is analyzed in a binary fluid system. The state of thermally driven convection leading to chaos is discussed. The article contains 68 references.
