description abstractIn Part I of this paper, we analyzed the turbulent flow structure and the torque transport characteristics of a fluid coupling. The results suggested certain modifications of the geometry which can improve the start-up behavior and reduce at the same time the material costs. In Part II we perform the numerical simulation of the flow in the modified geometry and investigate the influence of the modification on the performance. [S0098-2202(00)02204-5]
