description abstractA potential based panel method is developed to predict the partial cavity flow on two-dimensional hydrofoil sections. The Dirichlet type dynamic boundary condition on the cavity surface and the Neumann type kinematic boundary condition on the wetted section surface are enforced. A re-entrant jet cavity termination model is introduced. A validation is accomplished by comparing the present calculations with cavitation experiments of a modified Joukowsky foil and a NACA 66(MOD) a = 0.8 section.
