description abstractThis paper presents the static and dynamic characteristics of single-stage pressure-reducing valves and establishes design criteria. The dynamic analysis was accomplished using frequency-response techniques. A simplified loop gain function is developed for the valve and consists of a loop gain constant and two dominant time constants. The static characteristic curve and dynamic analysis were verified experimentally. A relationship between static and dynamic performance is also given.
