description abstractIn this paper two distinct methods, an impedance method and a “conventional” method, for modeling the dynamic interaction between the piezoelectric actuators/sensors and the substructures are summarized. It is demonstrated that both methods yield equivalent models for the beam with piezoceramic actuation. The pros and cons of each technique are discussed.
