description abstractThe object of this research is the study of the response of a simple mass-spring-damper system to repetitive impact. The following analytical and experimental methods were employed: (a) Solution of the equations of motion by analytical and computational methods; (b) use of an experimental model to quantitatively establish the correspondence between the mathematical model and the real system; and (c) development of useful engineering data, charts, and curves from the analytical and experimental phases.
