description abstractA method of simulating a class of hyperbolic distributed systems without using space discretization is presented. Complex distributed systems are realized by means of subsystems of basic distributed elements. The time-delay operation forms the basis of the technique which is ideally suited to hybrid or digital computation. Using this method the system is simulated independently of its boundary conditions which may be dynamic in nature. An example of a simple hydraulic system is presented.
