description abstractExperiments were undertaken to determine the effect of cavitation on various standard flow nozzles. The results show that the discharge coefficient of the ASME long-radius flow nozzle remains unchanged even with violent occurrence of cavitation. This is also true for the ISA flow nozzle within the prescribed tolerance so long as cavitation number does not fall below a certain limiting value. Further experiments provide information on the locations of cavitation, on incipient pressures, and on its effect on the overall pressure loss through the flow nozzles.
