description abstractThe paper presents a theoretical analysis for estimating the abrasive particle velocity in air-abrasive jet using continuum approach applied to two-phase flow system. Subsequently a theoretical model for predicting the material removal rate in abrasive jet machining (drilling) has been developed using semi-empirical fracture mechanics relationships and quasi-static indentation approach. Numerical results have been computed and compared with experimental results.
