description abstractCreep rupture tests on tubular specimens of type 316 stainless steel were run at 1200 F and at pressures up to 24,000 psi. The specimens were tested under pure internal pressure and equal biaxial tensions. The results of these tests correlate favorably with those of uniaxial tension tests if a comparison is made on the basis of effective stress and effective strain rate.
