description abstractThe effect of refraction by a flow boundary layer on the radiation of sound from a bending wave on a plate is investigated. Based on the relative velocities of the bending wave and the flow, four qualitatively different regimes are identified and results of numerical studies of radiation impedance and power emission are presented and discussed. For comparison, the role of a visco-thermal boundary layer is included with a correction of a numerical error in a previous paper.
