description abstractBy solving weakly compressible flow equations with application of Smogrinsky’s subgrid-scale turbulent model and partial-slip condition at the wall, a two-dimensional analysis is made on the flow of Re = 1.2 × 106 in a nonsymmetric planewall diffuser. The calculated velocity profiles are compared with the measured data, and the effect of inlet and outlet conditions on diffuser performance is evaluated. Comparison is also made between the symmetric and non-symmetric plane-wall diffusers.
