description abstractA moment closure model has been developed to model fuel-bound NO formation in a turbulent pulverized coal flame in a furnace. The effect of turbulence on combustion is accounted for by solving transport equations of fluctuating species correlations arising due to turbulent fluctuations. Correlation between fluctuating species concentration and fluctuating temperature is neglected. The predicted results show reasonable overall agreement with experimental data.
