description abstractThe theoretical part of this report is based on Ausman’s analysis [2] of gas-lubricated stepped slider bearings, but presented in simpler form. Experimental data in this paper verify Ausman’s solution. A correlation is attempted, and the design procedure given herein is based upon a combination of the Ausman theoretical method and these experimental studies.
