description abstractThe “law of wall” for turbulent shear flows has been adapted to analyze turbulent lubrication. This new approach takes into account many well-established facts concerning turbulent shear flows. Isotropy of turbulent momentum transport (eddy viscosity) is assumed in treating nonplanar mean flows. A linearized version of the governing differential equation is established. Sample results agree well with available experimental data.
