description abstractThe primary objective of this paper is to present a method of determining the resonant characteristics of a number of practical hydraulic systems. Distributed parameters are used to describe the system with the concept of hydraulic impedance being used to determine the frequency response. The investigation shows that the impedance approach is a valid, practical method of evaluating the resonant characteristics of complex systems without the introduction of many simplifying assumptions in the system geometry.
