description abstractRadial solid concentration profile distributions are often present in pipe flows of fine particle slurries, and play a dominant role in controlling the behavior of the flow. This paper presents a mathematical model for predicting such profiles from actual pressure drop data. The model is based on the concepts of “layered pseudo-homogeneous non-Newtonian fluids.” Preliminary results of studies with this model are discussed.
