description abstractA finite element model of the thermohydrodynamic behavior of a cylindrical bore bearing is presented. The predicted behavior is compared with experimental evidence where possible and favorable correlation is obtained. The analysis is extended to include thermoelastic behavior in both the shaft and bush and it is demonstrated that this mechanism can influence bearing behavior considerably.
