description abstractIn this paper, the equations developed in a companion paper (Part I) are adapted for use in developing stability charts. The nonlinear equations of motion were developed for a two-degree-of-freedom machine system in torsional vibration. Eigenvalues of the monodromy matrix, called Floquet multipliers, facilitate the examination of the solution to the linearized equations of motion. Two methods for producing the stability charts are presented here. A single-cylinder internal combustion engine is used as an example and sample results are included.
