description abstractIn a new orbital washer, the motion of clothes is exactly opposite to what might be expected in such a machine. A simple analytical model has been developed to explain this apparently anomalous motion. The mechanism of motion and the resulting predictions have been verified through high-speed cinematography and tests on an experimental orbital washer.
