description abstractThis paper offers extensions to the force-balancing theory and the techniques of spatial linkages given in [9-12]. It incorporates another technique for determining the minimum number of counterweights needed for a full balance and discusses the minimum number of counterweights without attachment to any common floating link of loops. Some examples are given to illustrate the application of these results.
