    The Theory of Resonance in Hydropower Systems. Discussion of Incidents and Accidents Occurring in Pressure Systems

    Source: Journal of Fluids Engineering:;1963:;volume( 085 ):;issue: 004::page 631

    Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
    Abstract: The opinion has been expressed that—in the past thirty years—the most severe and spectacular accidents have been caused by resonance in power conduits. If this appraisal is true, then there is a gap in our knowledge to be filled. The purpose of this paper is to summarize the actual knowledge of this particular chapter of practical fluid mechanics and to open the way to more advanced research.
