Abstract: This paper describes the design of a low-cost wheelchair dynamometer used to evaluate patient performance while using their own wheelchairs. Specifications are listed and details of the overall system including controlling schemes are given. Representative clinical research is listed. The multiple uses of the dynamometer system are discussed.
