description abstractThe problem of optimizing the working cycle of an industrial robot equipped with two independent arms is stated and put in mathematical form. The exact solution of this problem seems to be very difficult; the paper proposes approximate solutions for some typical manufacturing processes, carried out by implementing on a minicomputer standard algorithms of Operations Research and heuristic procedures. Examples of the use of the developed software are reported.
