| description abstract | If we could hob steel gears at high speed and full depth in a single pass (for the allowance of machining) using carbide hobs, “Gear Producing” capacity could be remarkably increased. However, the defects with carbide hobs are seen in frequent chipping and expensiveness. Using the comparatively less expensive carbide-tipped hobs, the authors have carried on a number of experiments in terms of the design, the special carbide quality for carbide-tipped hobs, and the improvement in manufacturing the hobs. And here at last we have the developed Carbide Tipped Hob without any chipping. Moreover, the authors have developed a new carbide hobbing machine equipped with a device which absorbs shock and vibration of the cutting blade during hobbing gears. The theme of this research is to introduce the points about the developed mechanical technique of hobbing. | |
