Residual Strains Around Coldworked Fastener Holes

Source: Journal of Engineering Materials and Technology:;1978:;volume( 100 ):;issue: 003::page 310

Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: A hole which is plastically expanded and then allowed to contract is referred to as coldworked. The residual strains around holes which were coldworked by an industrial process were measured in this work and compared with theoretical analyses. Agreement between theory and experiment is not very good.
