| description abstract | A generalized mathematical approach is developed to find the limit positions, hesitations, and dead-center positions of any given linkage. The approach is applied to study the motion of a geared five-link mechanism. It is shown that the limit positions of a geared five-link mechanism can be expressed in terms of a polynomial and that the degree of polynomial is a function of the gear ratio. | |
