| description abstract | Proper application of a track-mounted reclaimer in a storage yard requires knowledge of the machine and the parameters which affect its efficiency. Several stockpile systems are discussed and the operation of a luffing, slewing travelling bucket wheel reclaimer is defined in detail. The effect of pile geometry, material characteristics, pile management and machine design on overall efficiency are evaluated with typical numerical results. Definitions for rating of reclaimers is given in terms of maximum and average performance. | |
