Abstract: A review of the inverse solution of elastohydrodynamic problems has shown certain conditions on the pressure function and the possible singularity of the film shape. Such a singularity can be avoided by certain boundary conditions. When applied to a □ ring, the solutions obtained agree reasonably with some test data and show how to reduce leakage.
