Publisher: The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
Abstract: Use of the pole concept allows an easy evaluation and optimization of fastener geometry. When used on joints with unequal fasteners, it leads to the concept of Equivalent Area, and shows that optimal disposition of a given fastener geometry depends on load eccentricity.
