Abstract: Coupling vehicle bridge vibration system were treated as two subsystems, one for the bridge and the other for the vehicle, the geometric and mechanical coupling relations between vehicle and bridge were introduced, the Newmark method described in incremental dynamic equilibrium iteration equation was used to work out nonlinear three-dimensional coupling vibration program, whose reliability was proved using sprung mass moving over a beam. In the vehicle-bridge analysis for response and impact factor at main girder midspan of Hangzhou Bay Bridge, the effects of vehicle number, vehicle distance, vehicle lane, two-way direction, road surface roughness and vehicle speed were discussed. The results show that impact factor at main girder midspan become large with the road condition becoming worse while the impact factors do not have inevitable relationship with vehicle number, vehicle distance, two-way direction and vehicle speed.
