Abstract: At first, finite element model of axisymmetric transient dynamic analysis for saturated asphalt pavement subjected to dynamic loading was built, whose loading condition, boundary condition and material parameters were also listed out. Then the distribution along the depth and time history variation of vertical displacement, vertical stress, horizontal stress, shear stress and pore pressure in surface drainage case and surface non-drainage case were compared and analyzed. The result indicates that (1) the surface non-drainage condition has less influence on the displacement field, while it has an obvious impact on the stress field; (2) for the surface non-drainage case, a higher vertical stress appears at the outsides of vehicle wheels, what is more, a higher positive pore pressure is produced, which makes asphalt pavement structure in a more adverse situation.
