| description abstract | The effect of leaching on the properties of cemented sand deposits in Kuwait was examined by laboratory tests on samples taken from two sites with different cementation levels. The cementing agents identified include carbonates, sulfates, and chlorides. Tests included basic properties, consolidation, and consolidated undrained triaxial tests with pore pressure measurements. All tests were performed on natural and leached specimens. Leaching was carried out in the laboratory under low pressure using fresh tap water. The results indicate increased compressibility and a reduction of the effective shear strength parameters | |
