Abstract: The baccalaureate and master's programs in architectural engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, are presented here. The Bachelor of Science Program in Architectural Engineering (BSARE), which was established in 1975, requires courses in all specialty areas of architectural engineering (structure, environmental control, construction management, and computer-aided design), as well as courses in architectural design. The program requires 139 credit hours and includes a summer internship, an integrated design course, and a senior thesis. The Master of Science in Architectural Engineering Program was introduced in 1989, and the course content includes 12 credit hours as the core, 12 credit hours in an area of specialty, 6 hours of thesis preparation, and a research seminar. A number of master's theses have been completed dealing with a variety of topics related to the architectural engineering field. In 1993, the architectural engineering program was evaluated by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), which concluded that the program substantially meets ABET guidelines for accreditation.
