Abstract: Abstract. Pipeline transport is an important part of the energy transport sector. It can shorten the transport cycle and reduce costs. However, fluctuations in ambient temperature during transport can have a negative effect on pipelines, potentially leading to failure in severe cases. In this study, a combined bionic morphology of the inner wall of a pipeline is proposed for solving the problem of increased erosion rate and reduced mechanical properties of pipelines due to temperature fluctuations. Erosion and compression tests were conducted on both the bionic and normal pipes at a range of temperatures. The test results show that, in different temperature environments, the convex hull structure of the combined bionic model performs its anti-erosion function and provides internal support for the pipe. Concurrently, the uniformity of the phyllotaxis arrangement establishes a stable “protection zone” between the neighboring convex packages. In order to further analyze the mechanism of action of the combined bionic morphology, the study simulated the erosion process and compression process with the help of numerical simulation techniques. This article provides new theoretical guidance for synergistically improving pipeline performance, which is particularly essential for designing pipeline systems operating under harsh and extreme operating conditions.
