Abstract: Abstract. This study developed a portable device that serves as a temporary solution for emergency workers, such as paramedics, to stop bleeding until specialized medical teams can intervene. This study employs a combination of different approaches that could be used by paramedics to stop bleeding in accidents, trauma, and injuries. The efficiency of the proposed device has been validated with the conventional bleeding treatment approach with the use of wound simulation model. The results of this paper showed that the proposed portable device has demonstrated statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvements over the gauze packing method, reducing the hemostatic time taken to stop the bleeding by 57% and exertion effort done by 71%. This study addressed a vital need in emergency medicine by successfully developing and testing a novel portable device for managing external limb bleeding.
